Over the past week, our kaimahi have had the opportunity to take part in some incredible kaupapa. This included visiting the Hamilton Botanical Gardens and learning different strategies for planting kuumara. While in Hamilton, they also attended an Aute Expo hosted by Ataarangi Aute is one of the traditional tree species that we proudly grow at our centre.
In addition, our team went to support the opening of Te Puea Marae, one of our local marae here in Maangere. We’ve also opened our centre to whaanau from the marae, offering our venue whenever it’s needed.
Each of these experiences has been invaluable for our kaimahi, helping to strengthen their maatauranga and deepen their understanding of Te Ao Maaori and working alongside mana whenua.
